Our strategy was promotes Java in 2002 in all over Brazilian Amazon Region , for many reasons, such as: Reduce costs, scalability and portability via through J2EE, as well as the opensource solutions. For making this strategy possible, I designed a whole technical training for our team, covering every single aspect related with Enterprise applications and their related technologies. Such strategy resulted in one of the most proficient teams I ever seen on my whole life.
I was the main Pre-Sales person, responsible for helping the consulting engagements and providing support for sales.
My journey at Argos was amazing, I had a big pleasure of working with clever people, and available time for creating many exciting solutions, as the following:
- In 2003 - Our first "SOA-Like" solution, where we created a framework called "Jacode"(JAva COvnnects DElphi), which allows Borland Delphi's clients connects into EJB Components using WebServices, but with a "Transformation Engine" that transforms a "Java Collection or Java Object" into XMLDataPackets, format that Delphi's DataControls can to render visually. One successful case of this solution is under production since 2004 in the Traffic Department from Pará state.
- In the End of 2003, I created a Code-Gerenator Framework and Engine, which I had the chance for speaking a BOF about this idea at JavaOne in US in 2006, and this framework opened many business for us.
The best memories I have from Argos were the lessons that I had in how working and managing people, as well as how important is look the business landscape and not only from a technical perspective.
